Romania has recently joined the International Solar Alliance, and President Iohannis outlined the goal of having solar energy capacity contribute to 24% of the country's gross final electricity consumption from renewable sources.
The venture, undertaken in collaboration with energy developer Ikigai Group, has successfully reached financial close with Zestec Renewable Energy, culminating in an investment of approximately £18.5 million.
The expansion includes an 11MW site in Coryton Energy Park, Essex, and a larger 50MW site on Broomloan Road in Ibrox, Glasgow. Together, these sites will contribute a combined 61MW of storage capacity for renewable energy.
With a robust pipeline of projects valued at $5 billion worldwide, Canigou is playing a pivotal role in assisting governments across the globe in achieving ambitious targets for renewable energy adoption.
